3 Weeks Old

Ella is 3 weeks old and growing too quickly!! Her little blond spike really shows up in these pictures. It is always standing up.

This is her "dirty look face"
This is the fish face.

A big yawn!
And I like this little hand waving. She is so cute! Much cuter during the day than at night when she is awake and I would like to be asleep.

Diaper Bag

My very good friend, Amelia, sent me a picture of the new diaper bag she was buying. She had a baby 2 1/2 weeks after I did, although she was due 10 days before me. Long story, but I digress... her diaper bag was so cute that I decided that a girly diaper bag was a necessity. I looked at hundreds of bags and finally settled on this one. It is SO CUTE!! I love the fabric. There aren't a lot of pockets or pouches so it could be a little more user friendly, but I was going for looks. Especially after I have been hauling around a cheap old red purse for the last year and a half. I was definitely ready for something new.

I ordered the bag, it came in the mail and I have enjoyed having a cute bag. Then last Saturday I went into Nordstroms to find a dress for my baby to wear to church. I have a bunch of cute dresses, they just all were too big for her. And shoot, why not have her first dress be from Nordstroms right? Of course that idea is all Amelia's fault too. So I ran into the store (without any kids) picked up a cute little dress and went to pay for it. The clerk was commenting on what a cute bag I had. I told her how I searched for it, blah blah blah.

Then she said, "Hey, I think I have something that matches that." Sure enough she there was a "Diapees and Wipees" pouch that was the exact same fabric. I was so excited! It is a cute little fabric pouch that is the perfect size for a travel pack of wipes and a diaper or two. My cousin's wife Dedre, had shown me her D & W pouch a year and half ago. I thought it was such a super cute idea and it would be really easy to make one up. I planned on doing that but let's be real...when is that gonna happen? I can barely get laundry done these days.

Now I have a cute diaper bag and matching accessories! Happy day! Now I just need a matching wallet... :)

This isn't the best picture, but you get the idea!

Smiling and Legs

Ella really likes have her legs rubbed. if you start rubbing one leg she will stretch it out nice and straight, then when you stop she will kick her other leg out and let you give it a good massage too.

Her little toes pop out nice and wide when she is really enjoying it.

Ella really loves to smile when she is sleeping. She is always grinning. I happened to half way catch her smiling the other day. She has such a pretty smile!

Two Weeks Old

She was giving me a hard time when I was trying to get her picture. I love the faces she was making when Harmon was lying next to her.

A friend of mine, Messia, who is a photographer came over today and took some pictures of her. I can't wait to see what they turn out like! I am sure they will be amazing. Just watching her take the pictures was a lot of fun. I have camera accessory envy now. Of course, it would help if I just learned how to really use my camera first. Now I have a pretty little subject to practice on. I am sure Micah is thinking, oh goody another hobby for annie!! As if I don't have enough already!

One week old

These pictures were from last week.

What was I thinking??

HA HA!! I looked back at the pictures I posted on after Ella was born. I about choked when I saw that I included a picture of myself with my gown undone and my shoulders exposed! My mom watched me try to load the pictures onto the laptop and apparently I had my head in my hands half the time trying to make my eyes focus. I think I was suffering some "effects" of the medication they were giving me. In fact I went so far as to agree to several "major" purchases while in this drug induced state.
I have heard that when you have a new baby that it is tradition for the husband to buy you jewlery or some other fantastic gift. Did I get anything? NOPE...but apparently I thought he was WONDERFUL and AMAZING and that he deserved a super charger for his Lexus. This is a 12 yr old SUV that is in a constant state of "upgrade." I even agreed to something else for it but he decided that it wouldn't be wise to flex his credit spending power too far. It is a good thing that I have a sense of humor...it was about 6 days after she was born that I even heard about this supposed conversation. More importantly I do think he is amazing, wonderful, AND fantastic. :) He is alright as far as husbands go, but you better believe I'll be remembering this purchase for a long time!!

Ella Marie!

Here is my pretty girl just a few hours old.
The boys were fascinated with her.

They love holding Ella. So sweet!
Awaiting delivery!!
Fresh from the belly and already sqawking. In fact they had only her head and arm out and she was hollering.

Getting to meet mommy.
Bright and awake...can you see the mark on her forhead? That is from sitting on my spine somehow....ouch!

Here she is!! Ella was born Tuesday morning at 8:01 am. She was 6 lbs 15 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is a good baby so far, and is trying hard to master nursing. We are excited to be able to hold her and the boys are in love...sort of. There's a little love/hate going on there I think. But that is to be expected. I am currently hopped up on narcotics so if I spell something wrong or it doesn't make sense, it's the drugs talking! :)
