Nesting

The nesting instinct has definitely arrived. I have been working on a bumper pad, crib skirt and toy bag. The quilt is cut out, but I haven't finished it yet.

This is the inside of the bumper pad.

The toy pouch...which I think is adoreable.

And the whole thing. Now I just need to finish the other 50 items on my "to do before baby arrives" list.

Calgon take me away!

Do you remember those commercials? They seemed to be on the television set all the time when I was a kid. Some harried mother would be at her wits end and she would say, "Calgon, take me away." Then she would be magically transported to a tropical oasis sitting in a bathtub, experiencing perfect tranquility. Or something like that. The memory gets fuzzy sometimes.
Tonight as I was feeding my kids dinner I noticed a suspicious green mark on Porter's neck. I had gotten up to use the bathroom. I wasn't gone long. So what could this interesting green mark be? Marker, green marker to be exact. I asked Harmon why he was drawing on Porter. His answer? A perfectly justified, "He drew on me first." Sure enough, the back of Harmon's head was also a beautiful green. At this point I should mention that the dear husband is gone yet again, so I was left to deal with this on my own.
A little marker on the head isn't so bad, right? Then they pipe up and tell me that they have been coloring on the carpet beneath the table. Nothing quite like ruining base housing carpet. Bright green marker on blue (a hideous shade already) carpet in the middle of the floor. I was so mad. And what went through my mind? You got it....Calgon, take me away. PLEASE!!

ARRGGGHH!!!

Harmon drew this picture of a pirate. Those are palm trees and a path that the pirate is following. The little lines going to and from the pirate are also paths. I liked the little "patch" he drew on the pirate's face too. The circle above the pirate is a river that his ship is anchored in.
The top left of the picture has an "X" to mark the spot along with a shovel, a key and a treasure chest. The thing that I thought was so hilarious was the "map" he drew. The map is like a minature of his picture in the picture. Pretty funny.

FORE!!

He missed!
Concentrate!

Harmon and Porter came upstairs and told me they were going to play a game. Harmon had fashioned golf clubs out of tinker toys and they were playing minature golf. HA! HA! Their creative is astounding sometimes!
