Blessed

We have had some colds running through our family recently. It started off with Porter, quickly moved to Ella and on to Sam. Eventually we ended up taking Sam to the Dr. Monday morning and then he earned himself an ambulance ride to the hospital. He tested positive for RSV and was having a hard time breathing.

We have the most amazing pediatrician here on base who acts quickly, is compassionate and is always attentive. Sam responding quickly to the breathing treatments and the oxygen. We only had to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. He also has a double ear infection. Ella's cold lodged in her ears as well and once again the pediatrician came to the rescue. We had taken Sam in for him to look at (he was just squeezing us in) and he checked out Ella. She had an ear infection too and has been wheezing herself. As luck would have it I also have come down with this cold. We have lots of pink antibiotics and breathing treatments at our house right now.

Here comes the good part! Micah was home for a few days in between training (he was suppose to be here for about 24 hrs and came home early). Sunday he went to leave again and his flight had been booked incorrectly. What a blessing, he was able to be home and then rearrange his schedule to stay here for a few more days until the baby came home. He left again yesterday. To my rescue came one of my friends with dinner. Another has offered for tonight, two other friends have offered to go to the grocery store. Yet another friend offered to let the boys go play at her house. The nurses in the hospital were fantastic. Many many blessings all around. I feel so grateful!

  2. Oh Annie what a week! I'm glad to hear Sam didn't have to stay in the hospital long with RSV. Did they give him the RSV shots to avoid it for the rest of the season? When we were on our way moving there we stopped in Utah for a visit and Gabby was 3 months at the time. She got RSV from her cousin and ended up hospitalized. It was so sad. But when we got there to the Frozen North, the pediatrician recommended RSV shots for the rest of the season (which goes through April there).

We've got double ear infections and breathing treatments for the three under three here. So much pink meds!

I hope YOU get better as well. It's SO much harder when the mom is sick.
