Ella is 5 1/2 months old...she doesn't really take a bottle. Who am I kidding? She thinks bottles are crap. She doesn't take a bottle unless it is breast milk and even then she is less than thrilled with it. I am getting tired of breastfeeding. Sometimes it is great and I think I can do it forever. Other times I am pretty tired of being so tied down. I definitely am not going to be one of those people that can nurse their children until they are 5. Eww...definitely not for me. Anyone else feel like you have a big leach attached to you, sucking all your brain cells, energy and....and...oh, rats, I can't even remember what else I have to lose? It's all been sucked out of me. Just thought I'd share.
Oh, and one other thought. Whoever said that breastfeeding burns like 500 extra calories a day did not have my metabolism. And another confession...I can't wait until Ella gets teeth. That first bite and she is getting cut off! I'm just saying....no thank you!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. Nursing isn't for me either. I didn't have a very good experience with my first one and so this one we are trying out the bottle to see what it is like. So far, so good. Your family is so cute! Love your blog. Tara
I had a really painful start to all 3 of mine, and so I cut off the 3rd one at 5 1/2 months before teeth. Plus I never lost any weight until I stopped nursing. The week I stopped with allison I lost 5 pounds by doing nothing. Good luck with whichever route you take.
ReplyDeleteWell, It hurts, but ashton was allergic to formula so that was a long year almost I got sick of it, anyway cameron does fine with formula, I made sure he got the bottle in the hospital and several times a week sometimes a day esp. with eli gone during the week. Tip I have ashton give him the bottle then i help if he needs help. otherwise cameron smells the milk and really doesnt like to eat the bottle then. oh and your milk is probably sweeter than formula -mine is with all the sugar and chocolate i eat, just a thought i dont taste to verify.
