Ella's Blessing

We blessed Ella at church this last Sunday, which just happened to be Father's day too! Micah had been out of town on the 1st Sunday so we chose Father's Day instead. Micah did a great job although we very nearly didn't make it on time. It was a crazy morning. My mom and sister (along with 3 of her kids) came up for the blessing. We had a big breakfast then the boys started bathing. I was trying to finish her dress. I just had to sew down the bodice lining, sew buttonholes and attach the buttons. That went pretty smoothly, but then we were all rushing for the shower. While we were showering Micah went to pick up his suit. The tailor had to do some last minute alterations and they weren't done in time so he was late getting back to the house. But before he even went to pick up his suit he had stopped by to help a good friend with her car. It was dead and her husband was out of town. Of course it wasn't an easy fix so we were rushing to her house to drop off Micah's car so that she could get to church. We made it in for the opening song. Cassie and my mom were a few minutes behind us. The member of the Bishopric conducting that day forgot to add us to his agenda. He was doped up on Benadryl and had two different agendas going, so he had forgot to announce the blessing before the sacrament. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Cassie and my mom were able to arrive just in time for the sacrament and were sitting out in the foyer wondering if they had missed it. Lucky for us they were able to come and sit down just as Micah was heading up to the front. It turned out to be a nice day and I was thankful that some of my family could be there with us. Ella makes some of the funniest faces.

Micah was getting her to smile a bit.

I should add that this was leftover fabric from my bridesmaid dresses, except for the lace overlay. That was a new purchase. The dress almost didn't make though. Harmon decided to take the scissors and "alter" the first bodice I sewed up. He was lucky that I was able to find another piece of silk big enough or he might have been in some serious hot water.

Preschool Graduation

Harmon graduated from preschool last week. He had the BEST teacher. Harmon was always coming home with creative artwork and fun activities. She even made a little photo album for him documenting the last year. In almost every photo is a picture of his best friend Same. Unfortunately Sam had to move away.

Ella's Hair Bow

She was hungry and crying and definitely did not want to pose for the camera.
What a difference a little milk can make!!

This was from 2 weeks ago, so I am a little late getting it up, but it is too cute not too share. We were actually late to church while I was busy finishing her cute little hair accessory!

Ella at one month and my little helper!!

Ella is a month old now...as of the 29th of May, which was a week a go! I am just getting around to posting some pictures. It is kind of busy at our house right now. She is a good baby, although she has found her voice. Just today she let out a loud mad cry that startled Harmon. He laughed and said that she sounded like Porter.

If you know Porter you know that he enjoys crying loudly. We like to refer to him as "vocal" although he really is just a big whiner. Lately I have been telling him that he has to ask for things without whining. He is getting better at repeating his request in a normal voice. A friend of mine saw this exchange in action and was surprised to hear Porter speak so clearly. Then a few days later she was watching Harmon. Her daugher, who is also 5, began to cry and tell her mom about a disagreement they had been having. She hadn't gotten too far into her explanation when Harmon said, "do it without whining!"

Here are a few pictures of Ella in a very cute dress after church. I just love this dress but at the rate she is growing it may be the last time she wears it.

Look at those cheeks!!

We have named Harmon "Mr. Confidence" because he thinks he is a baby expert now. If Ella starts crying he will automatically pick her up and carry her around the house until he finds me. He even carried her up the stairs at my parents house. I about had a heart attack! Tonight I decided to take advantage of his "helpfulness" and have him give the baby a bottle so that I could get a few things done. Miss Ella really enjoys being held so I thought it would be a great idea to have him help out. He thought he was really hot stuff. He was so proud of himself for feeding her. Porter couldn't be out done and jumped in a few of the pictures.

Porter is so filthy. I gave them some hot cocoa and he managed to spray it all over himself and his face. Then he had Diego stickers up his arms and all over his shirt.

Poor baby, she looks like she doesn't know what to do with all that loving.
